Alappuzha

Established in 17th August 1957 . it is the sixth largest city in kerala. A city with  picturesque,canals, backwater,beaches and lagoons.Alappuzha is the access point for annual nehru trophy boat race.Mullakkal chirap is also one attractions of alappuzha.Coir is the most important commodity manufactured in alappuzha. Presently it is having 6taluks namely Cherthala, Ambalappuzha, Kuttanad, Karthikapally, Chengannur, and Mavelikkara. Kuttanad is the "Rice Bowl " of kerala. it is humid and hot during summer, it remains fairly cool and pleasent during the month of october and november. City experiences a long monsoon with heavy showers as both the Southwest monsoon and Northeast monsoon.
